Industrial Symphony by Julia Bondar
Hardware leads the way
Julia Bondar is all about modular synths. Not just because her partner, Andreas Zhukovsky is founder of Endorphin.es, she really believes that they liberate and ease the life of composers and performers. Judging by her own live performances, she certainly seems to be driven by a machine-spawning energy.
On her third album Industrial Symphony, Bondar draws out dark energies from her hardware, working Techno rhythms and Electro vibes, while blanketed in a Pop veil. Running With The Wolves, with its hypnotic hold, is a highlight, along with Fire (feat. Nero Bellum) but the latter reminds me of bdy's track of the same name. Power Of Presence toys with Trance traits while Best Intentions simulates orchestral tension. Overall, a pretty strong release.
