Haze by Fluxion
Getting lost in the haze of the moment
Like the final part of an unintentional triptych, Haze follows Perspectives (2020) and Parallel Moves (2021) in consolidating the evolving Dub Techno format of Kostas Soublis' music. At once reassuring with its fuggy four-on-the-floor rhythms, check Magenta and his own rework of Footsteps, while exploring deeper themes of introspection through filmic allusions (Nexus and Open Moves) and masked emotions (Touch and Reflections). Notably there's a trace of House in the rhythm on Berlin which may be a sign of what's to come. The overall flow across the ten tracks though undulates engagingly while avoiding a standard arc; even closing out with an upswing on What Tomorrow Brings.
