Surface Currents proffers an alternative view from the usual upbeat angle (à la Psychedelic Funk, Afrobeat, Rock, Progressive Soul) the prolific Israeli producer Kutiman's work has taken to date. Influenced by Terry Riley and William Basinski, he's followed an Ambient path that satisfies a compulsion to create while delivering something fitting for the frenzied pace at which modern life keeps.
