Fatima Al Qadiri - Medieval Femme

Medieval Femme by Fatima Al Qadiri

The melancholic longing in medieval poetry of Arab women brought to life in music

Less experimental but retaining her established Middle Eastern vibe, the Kuwaiti musician and conceptual artist's new album Medieval Femme is a meditative and deeply melancholic interpretation of classical poems of Arab women. Essentially we've got ten Pop-length tracks of haunting synths, hand-picked guitar (a lyre perhaps?) and no shortage of memorable melody. While it's sad it's rather beautiful and very accessible.
