Island People by Island People

Cool massage parlour music escapism

Heard the one about the mastering engineer, the producer, the DJ and the guitarist? They met on an island and decided to make sweet music together. Well... kind of. For the past three years engineer Conor Dalton, producer David Donaldson, DJ and musician Graeme Reedie (the guy from Silicone Soul) and guitarist Iain "Chippy" MacLennan have been exchanging files back and forth between their respective bases of Berlin and Glasgow, honing their shared ideas into deep and immersive music.

What began as a fun project through their Soma Quality Recordings connection, has turned out to be an Ambient tour de force. A long player composed of field recordings and delicate sound structures, subtle melodies and gently rumbling textures; it's cool massage parlour music escapism. The press release boldly claims: "timeless", which is open for argument, but the vibe is undeniably optimistic, calming and reassuring.
