That Who Remembers by Sebastian Mullaert & Dorisburg
Deep and moody improvised Techno and Ambient
Sebastian Mullaert has plenty of experience in musical collaborations and improvisation, notably 2019's 8½ hour extravaganza with Johanna Knutsson where they performed to a room of semi-conscious dreamers throughout the night (recording 58 tracks and later released on World Sleep Day 2021 as Live At De Waalse Kerk). On That Who Remembers, Alexander Berg (aka Dorisburg) joins his fellow Swede for an improvised collaboration, a melancholy meeting of minds, where Techno and Ambient collide in contemplative fashion. Deep Water is a highlight with its plaintive bleeping loops while Hibernation, the only track holding anything remotely regular in rhythm, ruffles and soothes satisfyingly. My fav fav though is Overgrown Rebirth with its deep and whispering Dub vibes.
