Echoes Of An Abandoned Future by Pope Jean Paul Van Damme
Rollicking Acid-infused IDM and Jungle
Quirky artist name aside, this rollicking eight track album of Acid-infused IDM and Jungle doesn’t muck around. Clocking in at 41 minutes the tracks flow into one another like Jamie Jones’ 2009 album Don't You Remember the Future (they even share paradoxical album titles!). As a result, the pace is unrelenting while the perpetual tension build leaves you breathless. The underlying Dub Reggae vibe, with familiar samples “trust me”, “mo-o-o-o-o-o-dese-e-e-e-e-e-ele-e-e-kto-o-o-o-r” is a key factor to its repeat-playability. Quality artwork too.
