Pact Infernal - Infernality

Review

Infernality by Pact Infernal

Moody, mediative music from a mysterious duo

On the back of two EPs (The Descent Chapter I & II), mysterious duo Pact Infernal return with a full album; stealthily creeping out of the shadows as the daylight fades, resurfacing with intent, their hallowed presence emanating an aura equal parts horror and simmering mysticism, to perform the darkest of diabolical ceremonies. It's an intimate event especially for you, lasting just over an hour; a life-changing rite of passage, where you're transported from one realm to another.

The order of service is as follows:

  1. Purification
  2. Initiation
  3. Philosophy
  4. Meditations
  5. Principles
  6. Death & Rebirth
  7. Infernality
  8. Talismans
  9. Symbology
  10. Transmutation
  11. Retribution
  12. Summoning
  13. Rites Of Passage

As concept albums go, this is extraordinary. To say the atmosphere is chilling is an understatement. Embroiled at every stage of Infernality, helpless in the thrall of events, thundering drums herald hellish havoc while terrifying textures paint ominous scenes of what's yet to come. Whispery sounds, tactile vibes and the stench of death and decay set your senses alight. The darkness is ubiquitous but don't worry, the process is painless, enjoyable even. And when you emerge from the other side, you'll be cleansed.
