Strong EP of melodic Techno
On new EP Don't Stop, French DJ and producer Benjamin Leclercq delivers four strong tracks, each exploring a different facet of floor music. The title track, which closes the EP, carries strong Anthony Rother vibes with its vocoder vocal and thumping Electro bass rhythms, while opener CTRL, built round a stirring Trance melody, toggles the tension and release switch before erupting at 4:22. Like Mike Dehnert's best off-centre floor tracks (think Wokabeat) No Four to the Floor works a quick-fire, military vocal snippet with an insistent beat and a distinct Detroit Techno melody via a synth loop. My fav is Moogy Shit as it rolls along on an ascending bassline, wringing tension like Nathan Fake's Outhouse (Main Mix).
