Ephemera by Fergus Jones
Like a mixtape
Ephemera is such a curious album from the Scottish producer you may also know as Perko. With collaborative energy as a driving force, the nine tracks end up so varied it's like listening to a mixtape, jumping from sultry Pop to surprisingly good Rap to blissed out Dub and Ambient. Reminds me of Belle & Sebastian's Late Night Tales Vol 1 compilation. Jones has essentially thrown out the rule book when it comes to making an album, and it stands out from the crowd because of that.
