With just the right balance of tension-building-and-release chemistry, this debut EP from shadowy, London-based artist going by the name AINT, delivers five thundering tracks of electronic fizz, like Pop music without lyrics; think of a vocal-less Adult. or Ladytron. Working to an Electronic/Punk blueprint, using drum machines and analogue synths, the music borrows bleeps-and-bobs from familiar places, all seasoned with Acid and Electro flourishes. Perfectly paced over 32 minutes, the near ten minute centrepiece Come Up Confusion lowers intensity levels enough to catch your breath.
