Swiss singer, songwriter and composer collects her film soundtrack work
Across 26 tracks Cinéma collects the work of Swiss singer, songwriter and film composer Sophie Hunger. Comprising the whole original soundtrack to the 2016 stop-motion animation Ma Vie de Courgette (by Claude Barras), along with a selection of highlights featured in other films (Le Vent Tourne, Der Junge, dem die Welt gehört, Rampensau and Der Sprayer von Zürich) there's a lovely whimsical nature to her work that reminds me of Yann Tiersen's work.
At just over 31 minutes in length, yeah, you've worked out that the tracks are short. So it's a whirlwind tour through the artist's oeuvre, comfortably switching between classical music, guitar work, singing, upbeat rhythms and Ambient composition.
