Jesse Rose - Fabriclive 85

Review

Fabriclive 85 by Jesse Rose

The fabric juggernaut rolls on with another above average selection

British DJ and producer Jesse Rose has impeccably mixed number 85 in fabric's esteemed series. With a selection of music from his own labels (A-Sided and Play It Down) alongside some fine collaborations (with Claude Vonstroke and Seven Davis Jr) and a few classics (from Gene Farris, Steve Silk Hurley and 3rd Face) this twenty track set certainly oozes party vibes throughout.

All the best bits have been packed into the last third though, which makes the preceeding selection sound somewhat uninspiring by comparison. In saying that, from track thirteen onwards it's a sublime listen; the Vonstroke collab Bare Mountain segueing into The Way You Like works, Kyodai's Sin City is a future classic and the (all too brief) contribution from Seven Davis Jr is one of the album highlights.

7/10 after 9 listens
