Phonographies by code

Interesting project involving three pieces of classical music, first reinterpreted and then remixed

Bridging the gap between the worlds of Classical and Electronic music, Jérémie Arcache and Leonardo Ortega, aka code, worked with an orchestra and three electronic music producers (Superpoze, Canblaster and Bachar Mar-Khalifé) to deconstruct and then reinterpret three solo classical works (by Marin Marais, Johannes Brahms and Claude Debussy). Essentially three tracks presented as three movements:

  • Movement I - the original work is recorded by the soloist
  • Movement II - the work is rewritten and reinterpreted by code and orchestra
  • Movement III - electronic piece based on the preceding movements
