A few good tunes Vol 25

Disco from DJ Overdose, eighties from Com Truise and Coldcut, Ambient from The Bug vs Earth and Federico Durand

Here's a few good tunes Vol 25, with DJ Overdose, Com Truise, Coldcut x On-U Sound (with Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Junior Reid and Elan), Mike Denhert, Broken English Club, The Bug vs Earth (with JK Flesh), Forest Swords, Marco Shuttle and Federico Durand.

  1. DJ Overdose - Get Away - seriously good disco vibes coming from the Dutch maestro on this one, taken from new EP Dream Disco Days
  2. Com Truise - Memory - Seth Haley, the American producer known for his retrospective 80s vibes proves to be the perfect bedfellow for DJ Overdose with this taster from his upcoming album Iteration
  3. Coldcut x On-U Sound - Divide and Rule feat. Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Junior Reid and Elan - sticking with the eighties a little longer, this one's like the ghost of Eddie Grant
  4. Mike Denhert - Up - taken from forthcoming album on Fachwerk Records called Providing Home, kinda dubby and well-clear of the dancefloor. Due out on 19th June
  5. Broken English Club - Plague Song - taster from new album to be released 15th June on L.I.E.S. - big Electro beats
  6. The Bug vs Earth - Dog ft JK Flesh - a sublime monster of a heavy rock track with an ambient undercurrent, puts me in mind of some of my old favourites from the early 90s. Taken from the utterly excellent album Concrete Desert
  7. Forest Swords - Arms Out - a subtle grower this one, a marching band beat with blurry voices singing nonsensically. Looking forward to new album Compassion out on 5th May
  8. Marco Shuttle - Olga - taster from new album Systhema, Shuttle's upcoming long player on Spazio Disponibile, due on 9th May. Lo-Fi beats and Ambient vibes
  9. Federico Durand - Navidad en el bosque - Sunday morning church music, beautiful though
