Dutch E Germ - IN.RAK.DUST

Review

IN.RAK.DUST by Dutch E Germ

Ex Gang Gang Dance drummer excels with debut album

IN.RAK.DUST, the debut album from ex Gang Gang Dance drummer Tim DeWit is eleven tracks of both exquisite and jarring sounds. Expertly mashing up all sorts of contrasting styles, from the lush piano and synths crashing into yelps on opening track IntroXXXWar to the rumbling textures of INRAKDUST and the punishing electronic beats of Nine, tracks merge and overlap, helping to consolidate the album as a single listening experience. Album highlight is the beautiful Nami Nami. Overall: beguiling but never comforting.
