Dasha Rush - Sleepstep

Review

Sleepstep by Dasha Rush

Spooky and immersive album of ambient techno from Russian producer

Sleepstep, the new album from Russian techno producer Dasha Rush is an expansive collection of otherworldly musical explorations.

Although loosely connected by the theme of sleep, every track brings it's own distinctive character in some spooky, textured or mysterious way. There's the gentle lullaby Sleep Ballade, the glitchy ambience of Time Whispers and Albert, choral bliss on Sail Away to Her and pulsing techno in 100 Hearts. And while it can be argued that each track is a perfectly formed composition in itself, the real success is down to the sequencing, balancing sixteen contrasting styles and moods to produce this thoroughly immersive listening experience.
