Matt Karmil - ----

Review

---- by Matt Karmil

Think The Field meets Actress and you're in the right ballpark

The debut album, entitled ---- by Matt Karmil is a fine collection of soft, repetitive and richly textured tracks. Chiming hypnotically throughout it's 45 minutes, it's a perfectly formed exercise in looped, minimal techno. Although easy to draw comparison's with Actress (Sinkhole and Holding), The Field (It's Rough and Frankrike (Float)) and even Forest Swords (Live The Dream) Karmil's sound is never boring. Sure, there's nothing new here, but there's nothing not to like either. Perfect working music.

You can stream the whole album over on Kompakt.
