Dold - Express Route
After Tracing Xircles, Blue Hour introduces more new talent in the form of young Swedish artist Dold
Blue Hour (the label run by Luke Standing) is extending its reach with some vital new blood in the free flowing form of Swedish producer Patrik Eriksson, aka Dold. The new EP, called Express Route, comprises four tracks of upbeat, Breakbeat-driven dance music, that slot comfortably alongside the label head's own floor-focused material.
Juxtaposing soaring synth strings with rugged four to the floor rhythms may be de rigueur these days but it works. I challenge you to listen and contain your emotions, particularly to standout moment Memories. Only the title track strays from this aesthetic slightly with some bolder Techno patterns, reminiscent of Mike Dehnert's last album Providing Home.
Eriksson has been making music since 2015, releasing on various labels, as well as his own Arsenik Records, which he runs with fellow producer Kuf. Express Route is out on 5th of November.
