Tribal ambience
You may remember the last Tamburi Neri EP appeared in my top releases of 2021 so I had high expectations for new EP Bolle di Dolore. In short, their signature style of "deep and tribal" still resounds. But while Barbieri's sexy, spoken-word vocal graces the title track, the combination of these factors doesn't quite reach the same levels of success. And if it wasn't for the superb Off The Meds Remix (of the title track) it may have lapsed into the forgettable.
Out now on Danza Tribale.
This is a triple-barrelled tune. A reissue of an old-skool remix and two fresh new mixes of the remix! You following at the back? Back in 1993 (where were u?) Peace Division’s Justin Drake and Paranoid London’s Quinn Whalley worked their magic on Peyote Dreams' obscure psychedelic proto-trance cut State Of Mind. So, for no reason other than it's a rock-solid classic, Berlin label Love On The Rocks has given it a reissue! And to bolster the package further, Roza Terenzi and Kassian present two suitably tasteful versions.
Paul Rose, aka Scuba, is back with his little-used alias Spectr and joins forces with old friend Bakongo, aka Wayne Goodlitt (Roska) to release two tribal jams.
