Palms Trax - To Paradise
Wed 1 May 2019 | permalink
Lifted from his new EP of the same name, To Paradise is Jay Donaldson, aka Palms Trax, demonstrating with great poise and precision, how to make the brightest Electro Pop, perfect for heralding in the summer.

Ewa Justka - You Are Repeating Yourself Indeed (KRTM Remix)
Thu 18 Apr 2019 | permalink
The opening chords of KRTM's remix of Ewa Justka's You Are Repeating Yourself Indeed may sound like a car alarm at full throttle and the initial effect is similarly arresting but things eventually settle down into a thoroughly pleasing peak time Techno beast. For me, best listened to extremely loudly first thing in the morning!
Tom Hades - Acrab
Tue 9 Apr 2019 | permalink
Think of a slow motion industrial ironworks, a confusing dark blur in every shadow. Then consider your position in this place, the thin air surrounding your senses is in fast motion. Mysterious dark shapes buzzing in circles, provoking a tension piercing atmosphere. Yet there's a glimmer of hope... that's the lead track Acrab from the new Tom Hades EP of the same name. Get on it.
Fred und Luna - Der Elektrolektor
Thu 28 Mar 2019 | permalink
Swiftly following up his album Im Tiefenrausch on Compost Records, the German Krautrock purveyor gifts us some more loveliness in the form of a four track EP called Im Tanzrausch, also on Compost Records. Lead track Der Elektrolektor balances melody, tension and poise with perfection. The whole EP is pretty nice though.
Joe Goddard - Pull The Plug (feat. Kool Keith)
Fri 8 Mar 2019 | permalink
New EP Pull The Plug sees the sometime Hot Chipper Joe Goddard firmly shake his Electro music maker with very pleasant results. Furthermore, the title track, featuring Kool Keith, is all shades of cool.
Out on Optimo Music offshoot label Against Fascism Trax.
Modeselektor - Who (feat. Tommy Cash)
Wed 27 Feb 2019 | permalink
Surely nobody expects refinement or subtlety from Modeselektor? Good, then nobody will be complaining about how wonderfully big and brash this track is?
Who, featuring Estonian rapper and conceptual artist Tommy Cash, doesn't mess around. In contrast to the opening thumping drum, which literally sounds like your speakers are rattling, the cartoony vocals kick in and you're soon singing along! Winner.
MATRiXXMAN & Bauernfeind - No Rush
Wed 6 Feb 2019 | permalink
Techno meets Trance and they live happily ever after.
The 7th Plain - I Think I Think Too Much
Sat 19 Jan 2019 | permalink
I Think I Think Too Much is one of the more tender, Ambient outings from Luke Slater's recent brace of reissues as The 7th Plain. The two new albums of reissues, Chronicles II and Chronicles III, follow the excellent first compilation from 2016, and play together like a "best of", comprising back catalogue releases (from albums My Yellow Wise Rug and The 4 Cornered Room) along with many rare and unreleased gems.
Posthuman - Once Was
Thu 20 Dec 2018 | permalink
Acid done properly, that's the new Posthuman album Mutant City Acid. And while there's many strong tracks to choose from, Once Was is my pick, with its catchy vocal snippet, and polite nod to early nineties Electronica. If Boards of Canada did Acid, it would sound as blissful as this.
E-Talking - Telephone Rose
Tue 4 Dec 2018 | permalink
E-Talking is French artist Emmanuel Corre, one half of French duo Nummer, and he shares this release on Whities with UK producer Laksa.
