SSTROM - Vitriol

Review

Vitriol by SSTROM

Second EP of forward-thinking Techno from one half of SHXCXCHCXSH

Second EP of forward-thinking, leftfield Techno from one half of Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH. The beats are muffled and warm but they pulse with a purposeful force. And like Fyren (SSTROM's debut on Semantica from 2016) the four tracks mesmerise with subtle melodies and fuzzed-out texture. Second track Sienna exemplifies the sound perfectly: a sustained tension interwoven with a simple melodic riff and balanced with a head-nodding rhythm.
