Retreating to his studio for the second time this year Amirali has once again immersed himself in the creative process of music-making. Following his Odyssey EP from earlier this year, he returns to the fray with Heights Of Ecstasy, an expansive exploration in sound design. With a goal of being
playful with abstraction and to create a psychedelic vibe, the classically trained pianist combines orchestral manoeuvres with deft electronic composition to take the listener on a dramatic journey that incorporates samples, eerie synths and layers of texture. If this is a taste of his forthcoming album, we're in for a treat!
On the b-side, Disco Halal head-honcho Moscoman reworks the track and points it towards the dancefloor.
Heights of Ecstasy is out today on Amirali's own label Dark Matters.
