Jupiter Jax - Visions

Review

Visions by Jupiter Jax

Lovely debut album of vintage house vibes

Visions, the debut album from Maltese producer Rudi Agius, is eight tracks packed with so many musical references, it shouldn't sound this cohesive, this enjoyable. Certainly, the warm House vibe, prominent throughout, ties things together but listen carefully, every track points elsewhere, whether it's Detroit Techno (Armed For Peace, Soul Searchin'), the New Age music of Enigma (The Light) or even subtle hints of rave (The Deepest). The result is a type of vintage House music, filtered through the brain of a man who clearly knows and loves that era of music well. Agius may have added little new to the electronic music genre but what we've got is a really well produced album that hints at great things to come.
