Juju & Jordash - Clean-Cut

Review

Clean-Cut by Juju & Jordash

Jazzy third album of cosmic techno from the Israeli duo

Third album from Israeli duo Gal Aner and Jordan Czamanski stays true to their experimental, jazzy roots, but attains a satisfying coherence. Over ten lengthy, well-produced tracks, noodly riffs, cosmic guitars and psychedelic melodies abound, loosely stitched together as one techno tapestry. Opening salvo Clean-Cut sets the scene with a driving rhythm, incessant but never suffocating, a pattern repeated throughout the album with snatches of catchy melody, tempered with drawn out passages, sometimes hypnotic, sometimes meandering; it's a fine balance that works.
