Fabriclive 74 by Jack Beats
The London duo have produced a vocal-heavy mix with lots of wub-wub-wub
Plying their trade as Jack Beats since 2007, DJ Plus One (from the Scratch Perverts) and Beni G (from The Mixologists) certainly know how to DJ (they've won awards!). Their contribution to the Fabriclive series is a slick, high energy affair (if the opening few tracks from the likes of Duke Dumont and Ten Walls don't grab your attention, nothing will). Before you know it you've been manhandled aboard the Jack Beats Bandwagon, merrily bouncing along to the wub-wub of A-Trak, Will Sparks and P Money, unable to clamber off, even if you wanted to. Their own tracks and edits interspersed throughout maintain a cohesive momentum and even bring some of the highlights (i,.e. Beatbox and The Ill Shit). The last few comedown tracks (Flux Pavilion Feat. Example and Basecamp) close things out just as you'd expect. Overall: safe but effective.
